JavaScript

By using JavaScript, your Internet experience can go beyond the simple click-and-wait applications commonly associated with Web sites. JavaScript allows you to not just read pages, but interact with them as well. With JavaScript, pages become much more dynamic, even with the slowest Internet connection. You'll get a quick response because the interaction does not need to involve the server, but can take place in your browser.

Linking to Pages (Bookmarks)

When you find a Web site that you think you will want to return to on a regular basis (like saegisbenefits.com), you may find it helpful to create a "bookmark" in your Web browser. Once a bookmark is set, instead of having to type in the entire Web site address, you can simply click on the bookmark tab you've created. These short cuts are referred to as Bookmarks in Netscape browsers and as Favorites in Microsoft Internet Explorer browsers.

Adobe Acrobat (PDF) Documents

PDF stands for Portable Document Format. Adobe Systems, Inc. created the Acrobat PDF format in 1994 so that people could create documents using any of the common office publishing software or graphics applications and distribute them in an electronic format without requiring the reader of the program to have the same programs or fonts.

To receive a PDF, you must have Adobe's free Acrobat Reader program downloaded onto your computer. It also lets people with different computers (Macs, Windows and Unix) share documents since the Reader program is available for a variety of operating systems. The PDF format has become the standard software for delivering formatted electronic documents.
